Palm Springs, California and Mt. San Jacinto by Stephen H. Willard

Showing the Route of the Proposed Aerial Tramway. Vintage postcard 1940s.

The proposed aerial tramway up Mt. San Jacinto will, when complete, be the second one to be built in the United States, the first being at Cannon Mountain, Franconia, N.H.
The Mt. San Jacinto Tramway will be more than twice as long, and will rise in that length to three times the elevation, ascending 6,000 feet in the 12,800 feet of length.
The towers will be 60 to 280 feet in height, and the cables 2 1/4 inches in diameter. The tramway will, when complete, open up a wilderness area for sightseeing and winter sports, which has been little known to the general public. Print on Linen.
