Siemens Teleprinter T 37 g, 1952 Germany.
Teleprinters converted texts entered by means of a machine resembling a typewriter electromechanical into transmitting signals. These electric signals operated an electrical printing unit at the recipient`s location. The sender used a rotary dial to enter the number of the adresss prior to sending. It was also possible to prepunch messages in a paper tape and then to send the messages at a rate of 400 characters per minute. This not only saved time, but also transmitting fees.
